The Turtle Verses Rabbit Online
It's a beautiful sunny summer morning here in Massachusetts. I live near the coast on an old cranberry farm. And every monrning I get to walk my dog around the cranberry bog. There are irrigation canals that run through the bog and a large holding pond next to the bog. On one of my morning walks I saw a very large snapping turtle. This turtle must have been three feet long. He was a big boy. So I named him Billy Bog. He was a very persistant turtle. A few days later he was found up on top of a hill in our neighbor's garden. They took him back down and put him back in the bog. We think of turtles as slow and lazy. They are actually much faster than we think. A few weeks later I saw Billy Bog the turtle mating with another turtle over in the holding pond. This turtle was active, persistant, busy and productive.
We often think of the Tortoise and The Hare story but so often miss the point. So often this is the case with internet marketing and building a successful online business. We want to run like a rabbit and make thousands of dollars instantly online. The statistics paint the picture for us. Ninety five to ninety eight percent of internet marketers are failing or making no profit. The rabbit mentality is somewhat to blame. In this instant society that we live in we expect instant success. Unfortunately, too many of us have been scammed by the many internet marketing offers that promise instant mega profits.
I have chosen Billy Bog as my article pen name because it reminds me constantly to be persistant. Persistance takes time and effort and discipline. Many of these internet marketing programs are good programs if we will take the time to learn how. Internet marketing is not rocket science but it's also not as easy a placing a few ads and raking in the money. Like Billy Bog the turtle we have to invest time into our business efforts. We have to invest time into finding what works and learning how to do it.
So let's be encouraged. The internet is booming and millionaires are being made. And when compared to real world business it's a bargain. You can work from home, no building to rent, buy or maintain, no inventory, no employees. That is a considerable savings. You can start an internet business for peanuts compared to real world business ventures. But that's what stops so many of us. We lack the money to get started or we won't spend the money to start and maintain our business.
My internet business is called The Cash River. And it is based on a concept that is promoted online all the time. Multiple income streams. That's how a river operates. The largest rivers in the world start out as small streams and they are fed by other streams until they become a mighty river. This concept takes time. Building an internet Cash River requires a number of programs. You need a few good products, offers or businesses to promote. You need a number of good traffic generators. And it helps if these traffic generators also produce an income. Even if it only produces ten dollars, do that over and over and you will have hundreds of dollars, do it with several traffic generators and you will have thousands of dollars. Next you need lead generators. And again, a lead generator that produces profit enlarges the river.
Now you don't have to spend thousands to create a Cash River. There are quite a few top line programs out there that cost thousands to get into. I avoid those programs. But there are also quite a few traffic and lead generation programs out there priced between fifteen dollars and two hundred dollars. And they each have an affiliate component that creates an income stream.
So go out and put together your own Cash River. And don't just throw anything together. You want to get involved with programs that you can get excited about. Excitement or passion for succeeding will make all the difference. Don't be like the rabbit jumping all over the place from program to program. Be determined, persistant, disiplined and teachable.
